In the street outside, someone talking loudly on their mobile phone:

"Yes, let's do that, you are a lovely man and he is in Russia now. Hello, nutter."

Woman in a restaurant to a waiter:

"I don't like avocado? But I still like avocado? So, can I have the avocado; but on the side? But not with the salad? So, the avocado salad, but without the avocado, but the avocado on the side?"

Overheard in a restaurant on Charlotte Street, two ladies chatting:

“You know that guy I was seeing? The guy who was a policeman? The guy who was, like, in the police?”

“No… Who?”

“The guy who was a policeman? Policeman guy?”
[shakes head] “No… Which guy was he?”

“Policeman guy? He was in the police?”

“Oh! Yeah! You mean policeman guy! The guy who was a policeman!”

Overheard Conversation #1

In an Italian restaurant a couple were talking to a waitress whose first langauge was not English.
[Lady]: "I want something green!"
[Waitress]: "Do you want a green salad?"
[Lady]: "No! I want something green!"
[Man] "Like, what he's [me] eating." [I was eating an avocado and mozzarella salad.]
[Waitress] (understandably confused): "Do you want an avocado?"
[Lady]: "Is it green?"
[Man]: But is it green?
[Lady]: "I don't want any salami with my green salad."

Later, as I was leaving, the man was saying: "You know when you meet people and they are, like, people, and they are really people?"

[Waitress] (understandably confuse)] "Do you want an avocad
